Greetings! My name is Andy Gesner, and for more than two decades I've been involved with independent music. Seven years ago I started HIP Video Promo, filling a painfully gaping niche and providing the services and the follow up necessary to help bands, artists, and labels get their music videos seen. After many years of fighting the good fight—playing in bands, booking clubs, putting out CD compilations, managing artists—I was inspired to create a very successful promotional formula for music video exposure.
Experience is a very demanding teacher—she gives the test first, and the lessons afterward. Promotion, I have learned, is essential to success in any indie-rock-leaning endeavor. I have also learned that hardly anyone likes to do it, and that even fewer people have any notion of how to go about it. You can hire people to help you, but searching for the right people takes time better spent on your musical pursuits. At HIP, I've recruited a gifted and enthusiastic crew who genuinely enjoy promoting artists we respect and admire; because we know how crucial promotion is for bands, labels, and individual artists seeking to get to the next level.
